Sometimes we let an older dog go to a new home. Ideally, we would not part with any of the dogs we raise and keep. There are three main reasons why we may let a dog go:

Firstly, for practical reasons, we can only keep so many dogs as part of our household. We show our dogs. When we keep a puppy for showing it may not develop exactly to the standard we want to exhibit. In circumstances like this we will let a puppy go to a pet home. The dogs will always be healthy and have excellent temperaments.

Secondly, some dogs and puppies do not like to live in an environment where they have lots of competitors for attention. They need one to one relationships with an owner. We have not only the physical but also the psychological well being of our dogs at heart. So when we have a dog that does not thrive in our environment, we place them with a family or individual where they will get the attention they need and deserve.

Thirdly, we sometimes get dogs back from owners where they are no longer able to keep them. As you will see from our sales contract on the puppy pages, we expect to take an active part in homing these dogs. When we are able, they may become part of our household. When we cannot home them permanently with us, we will carefully select a suitable home for them from applicants.

These dogs are not rejects. They are healthy and fine examples of their breed.

We are very selective about how we home any of our dogs. With older dogs we are even more cautious as we have a better understanding of such a dog's needs.
